Wisdom Teeth Removal in Peachtree City, GA — Done Right, by an Oral Surgeon.

Dr. Paul Anderson reviews every wisdom teeth case with a pano and/or CT scan and gives you a straight answer. If removal is the right call, you’ll sleep through it. If it’s not, he tells you that too.

When There Isn’t Enough Room, Problems Follow.

Many people’s jaws simply don’t have space for wisdom teeth to come in cleanly. It comes down to plain biology.

Common reasons wisdom teeth need to come out:

Impaction

The tooth is trapped under the gum or bone and pushes against the tooth beside it.

Partial eruption

A flap of gum forms over the tooth, trapping bacteria and leading to infection.

Cysts

A fluid-filled sac can form around an impacted wisdom tooth and silently damage surrounding bone and roots.

Hard to keep clean

Even fully erupted wisdom teeth sit so far back that decay and gum disease tend to follow.

In our practice, only about one or two patients a month have wisdom teeth truly positioned to stay clean and stay put. When that’s the case, Dr. Anderson tells you to leave them alone.

Earlier Is Often Simpler, but Adults Can Have It Done Too.

When impacted wisdom teeth come out in the mid-to-late teens or early twenties, the roots are shorter and the surrounding bone is softer. Recovery tends to be faster and complications less likely.

If your wisdom teeth aren’t causing problems yet, watching and waiting may be reasonable. Dr. Anderson reviews the imaging and gives you an honest read: remove now, watch and wait, or leave them alone. There is no age cutoff for wisdom teeth removal. Adult patients have this done routinely here.

Impacted Wisdom Teeth Oral Surgeon — Board-Certified, With a Medical Degree.

Wisdom teeth removal, especially for impacted wisdom teeth, involves cutting through tissue, removing bone, and working around nerves that sit millimeters away. That’s a different level of technical demand than most dental offices handle regularly.

Dr. Paul Anderson is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with both a dental degree and a medical degree. That dual training means he has the anatomy and surgical depth to handle every nerve, tissue layer, and complication that can come up.

Before focusing on oral surgery, he trained in general surgery at a major medical center. That foundation is what makes him comfortable in situations most dental-office providers never encounter.

Every wisdom tooth case is planned with a scan that shows the exact tooth position, nerve location, and surrounding bone.

A dedicated surgical assistant is in the room monitoring your breathing, heart rate, and vital signs throughout.

Dr. Anderson focuses on surgery. The surgical assistant focuses on your anesthesia.

More than 40,000 anesthesia and sedation cases behind this team. That depth is the reason complications here are rare.

You won’t feel the procedure. You won’t remember it. You’ll wake up with the hard part behind you.

General Anesthesia and IV Sedation Available — You Won’t Feel a Thing.

You will be fully asleep for wisdom teeth removal and sleep through the whole thing. We offer general anesthesia and IV sedation so you sleep through the entire procedure.

Dr. Anderson is an outstanding dental surgeon. Beside manner is terrific but what counts is his skill and experience. If you’re going to an oral surgeon you’re probably having a procedure well beyond normal dentistry. You’re in competent hands with Dr. Anderson. Staff iss terrific as well.

Wisdom Teeth Removal: Questions We Hear Often.

How do I know if my wisdom teeth need to come out?

The only way to know for certain is a scan that shows root position, nerve proximity, and available room to erupt. Dr. Anderson reviews the imaging with you and gives a direct recommendation.

Still worth evaluating. Many wisdom teeth cause silent damage, such as cysts, hygiene issues and bone loss, before they cause pain. A scan gives you a clear picture and time to plan.

Many dental insurance plans cover wisdom teeth removal, at least partially, especially when impaction or infection is documented. We file claims on your behalf. We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid. CareCredit and LendingClub are available for out-of-pocket costs. [CONFIRM: current accepted insurance list and financing partners for wisdom teeth]

Many patients take two to four days off. Some return in three days, others need a full week. It depends on how many teeth were removed, whether they were impacted, and how you heal.

Dry socket happens when the blood clot over the extraction site gets dislodged before the tissue heals. Avoid straws, smoking, and hard rinsing. We cover this in detail at discharge.

Yes. There is no age cutoff. The roots are more fully formed, which can make the procedure a bit more involved, but Dr. Anderson removes wisdom teeth from adult patients routinely.
